Stardate update.
So, some months later, you get the idea. That whole Oregon thing didn’t work. Yeah, it was cheaper and yeah, we had a lot of open space, and it didn’t work. But hey! I now own and operate the Lost Empire Ranch in Bonny Doon, a private horse facility closed to the general public unless I invite you in. It’s small. A little quirky. But darling. The arena gets shared horse/dog/horse/dog/horse/dog but we don’t care, it’s ours. I move the dogwalk out, I move it back in. We live next door to the forest. Since we’ve been back, Bader’s won the big prizes at the UKI West Coast Open, UKI West Coast Cup, USDAA Western Regional, and 3 different ISC/FCI Cups, all before his third birthday. I’m running a lot slower, but he’s getting faster every day. Probably more feral, too. Banksy is picking the slow route with me, so we go for our morning forest walks, right down the road now, me and her amble, Bader runs circles around us with massive tree branches hanging out his mouth. It all works great, and none of it would have happened had we not left, then come back. A lot of good luck and good people helped us get here. If you’re looking for me, I’m teaching full time at Heart Dog Agility in Ben Lomond, just a quick drive down the mountain from here. Hope to see you there!
